trasmattor
スウェーデンで1番最初に学んだ織りが、この裂き織マットでした。このマットは古くから暮らしの中で作られ使われている日常のものです。
小さな布のハギレを入れてみたり、途中で色を変えてみたり・・・と、いろいろなスパイスを加えながら料理するような感覚で織ります。また衣類やベッドリネンだったものが、再び素材となり別の姿に生まれ変わるこのプロセスに特別感を感じ、以来私のお気に入りの手法となりました。
This carpet was the thing that I learned for the first time in Sweden.Those carpets are called ‘trasmattor’ in swedish and they are very traditional things. I noticed that I could find them in almost all the houses.
I like to making them because I can mix many small pieces and color like mixing spices when you cook. I also have a special feeling to make new things from the material which have already had different history with them. Since I made my first trasmatta, those material became my favorite.
